What to Expect
The Recertification Experience
Recertification Overview
The ART Advanced Full Body (AFB) and Advanced Full Body Level 2 (AFB2) Seminars are a one-day review of the most commonly used ART protocols. Previous completion of all ART Level 1 seminars is a prerequisite for AFB, and previous completion of all ART Level 2 seminars is a prerequisite for AFB2. Over the course of the eight-hour seminar, attendees review the muscles and soft-tissue structures of the upper and lower extremities, and the muscles and soft-tissue structures surrounding the spinal column. Attendees will review how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 75 of the most commonly used and clinically relevant Level 1 manual protocols for AFB, and 49 Level 2 manual protocols for AFB2.
ART Advanced Full Body Online provides instruction and training covering a variety of commonly used and newly released ART treatment protocols. Refresh your clinical skills in palpation and evaluation during this live online seminar. Full Body Level 1 certification is a prerequisite. ART Advanced Full Body Online provides evidence-based instruction of the necessary knowledge and skills to detect and treat soft-tissue dysfunction throughout the human body. Throughout the seminar, attendees review basic human anatomy, physiology, and pathology, which provide the basis for instruction on appropriate use and execution of manual protocols. Attendees will also learn how to evaluate and treat soft-tissue dysfunctions and pathologies using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm.
Learning Objectives
- Interpret Single-loop Negative Feedback and how it pertains to ART treatment.
- Recite the four basic components of ART treatment protocols.
- Palpate anatomical soft-tissue structures within the upper extremity, spine, and lower extremity, using appropriate tension, depth, and motion to properly perform the treatment protocol.
- Summarize the cellular response to ART treatment on soft-tissue structures.
- Recite the physiological methodology of ART’s Diagnostic Algorithm.
AFB2 Additional Learning Objectives
- Paraphrase relative motion and how it pertains to ART treatment.
- Differentiate between two muscles that are side-by-side in the human body when asked to perform palpation and an ART treatment protocol.
AFB Online Learning Objectives
- Summarize the physiological methodology of ART’s Diagnostic Algorithm.
- Recall anatomy of soft-tissue structures to properly identify, palpate, and treat all necessary anatomical structures utilizing ART treatment protocols.
- Recognize common symptom patterns of lower extremity, spine, and upper extremity neuromuscular injuries and disorders.
- Recall how to correctly move a muscle from its shortened to elongated position.
- Recall how to assess soft-tissue neuromuscular injuries and disorders utilizing differential palpation and ART’s Diagnostic Algorithm.
Method of Instruction
ART provides a hybrid learning model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees are expected to complete online preparatory materials consisting of a review of gross anatomy, explanations of the ART Diagnostic Algorithm, treatment methodology, protocol instructions, and a pre-credentialing exam. During the in-person portion of the seminar, attendees work alongside instructors and other attendees to practice palpation and treatment protocols. After completing the online modules and 7.5 hours of in-person training, attendees will demonstrate their skills through a practical exam to determine if they meet minimum requirements to use ART treatment in a clinical setting.
ART Advanced Full Body Online provides instruction and training covering a variety of commonly used and newly released treatment protocols during a live, online seminar. Seminar attendees are required to answer five questions which are required to complete the seminar. Attendees are also required to complete a ten-question test within two days post-seminar and achieve a 70% mark to successfully pass the seminar. As soon as attendees receive confirmation of certification, they can begin helping patients feel better faster, with the Gold Standard in Soft-Tissue Care®, and benefit from the accompanying increase in visits and referrals.
Preparing for your Seminar
ART seminars require an intermediate-to-expert understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy. We suggest that providers register at least four to six weeks in advance to allow time for self-study of the seminar curriculum materials. In addition, we highly recommend that student attendees complete at least one semester of gross anatomy prior to attending a seminar.
You can set yourself up for success by refreshing or advancing your understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy, including origin, insertion, action, and nerve innervation before your seminar. In addition to seminar curriculum materials, Thieme’s Atlas of Anatomy is useful as a reference and study guide for all ART seminars.
