As of 2022, nearly 13 million people work in the private sector of the manufacturing industry.

Active Release Techniques® (ART®) recognizes the strenuous and often repetitive tasks manufacturing employees take on in their day-to-day work.

ART Corporate Solutions (ARTCS) offers ART On-Site Wellness programs that make employee wellness and safety convenient for both employers and employees. An ART Elite Provider comes to your location to provide quick, on-site ART treatment that will not create an OSHA recordable.

How Parker Hannifin cares for their employees

Todd Prather is the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager for Parker Hannifin which specializes in the aerospace manufacturing industry. We had the opportunity to ask him about the intersection of injury and ART On-site Wellness in their workplace.

Q) What are the most common injuries you see at Parker Hannifin?

A) Prior to ART treatment, the most common injuries were soft tissue related. Our most prevalent injury these days would be struck by or struck against something. Typically, they are simple contusions, but we do have a periodic laceration.

Q) Do you see a turnover rate in employees who have sustained on-the-job injuries and never sought out treatment?

A) We have some employee turnover with new team members if they feel like they cannot physically conduct the work and don’t speak up about their pain. If they are willing to speak up, we can typically improve their pain levels and overall happiness at the facility.

Q) Are there certain departments within Parker Hannifin that see more injuries than others?

A) We don’t have a trend around a specific department having more injuries than others. The number of incidents is extremely low these days.

Q) How do you think on-site ART treatment plays a role in employee productivity at your company?

A) ART treatment plays a direct role in team member productivity. When people are not in pain, they are more productive!

Q) How do you see on-site ART treatment improving employee morale in your company?

A) I feel that team member morale has increased because of ART [treatment] because it’s a tangible way that Parker Hannifin has proven they care about the wellness of its team members.
